Denis Knoepfler, Proxeny and citizenship decrees from Eretria (in French)
Denis Knoepfler presents the commented edition of 49 decrees of proxenia and citizenship discovered in Eretria, among which are a large number of new documents. The author also proposes a revised and augmented version of certain inscriptions. Dated for the most part from the end of the 5th to the 3rd century BC, these decrees make it possible to comprehend the evolution of Eretian institutions. Thus they constitute a precious source the history of this Greek polis in Classical and Hellenistic times.
